Presence and Process Group

January – March 2027

This clinical supervision group is concerned with how therapists are with their clients, rather than what they are doing together. The group brings together therapists with diverse styles to cultivate their therapeutic presence and to engage experientially with the nonverbal realm of the therapeutic relational process, so that the information living there can be made conscious and clinically available.

Participants will be invited into lively, experience-near collaboration. They will present cases, ask questions, share stuck points, dilemmas, and transference material and work through these in a co-creative mentalizing space. The group does not instruct a specific modality. We will animate the right-brain unconscious resources of the collective, pooling our evoked images, feelings, sensations, and dreams to access what one person alone cannot meaningfully grasp. By embracing curiosity and playfulness, participants will build up their tolerance for the unknown, leading to more courage, perspective, and mental flexibility.

Who the group is for

Practicing psychotherapists utilizing any modality may join us, though it is encouraged that they are attachment- and trauma-informed. All levels of experience are welcome; if there is sufficient interest, a separate group will be formed for novice clinicians. This is a closed group, so it is for those prepared to commit to all dates.

About the supervisor

I am a relational psychotherapist and trauma specialist with 10 years of experience translating that which is evoked, enacted, and embodied, into clinically workable insights about clients’ prevailing self-states and attachment working models. My practice is psychodynamic, incorporating somatics and parts work, and grounded in intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive values. I’m energized by travelling deeper into the mysteries of the therapy relationship. I trained in a relational model of clinical supervision with Judy Gould, a former faculty member of the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy, whose case conference format inspires this offering. Supervision hours with me are eligible for those fulfilling their registration requirements with CRPO.
